About the AI
A plain-English guide to how this practice coach works and how we look after you.
What this tool is
This is an AI practice coach. It runs pretend interviews so you can practise. It is not a real interview and it never decides anything about you.
How the AI works
- It reads the job you chose and writes practice questions for it.
- When you talk, your speech is turned into text so it can reply and show you captions on the screen.
- At the end, it reads your answers and writes friendly feedback.
Sometimes AI makes mistakes. If a question or a piece of feedback seems odd, it probably is. Trust yourself.
What we keep
Anonymous counts only — for example, "120 people practised this week". Nothing that could point back to you.
What we never keep:
- Your voice
- Your answers
- Your feedback
- Your name
The rules it follows
- It will never ask you questions that an employer is not allowed to ask.
- It will never tell you whether you would get a job.
- Employers never see anything about you.
A human is in charge
This service is run by people at North Yorkshire Council's Economy and Tourism Service. We check how the tool behaves on a regular basis.
